New Morning/Afternoon Dismissal Procedures for 22-23

Liberty School
Morning Arrival and Afternoon Dismissal Procedures
(revised for 2022-2023 school year)
Change is often discouraged or even opposed; however, student safety and security is a priority at Liberty School. Thus, resulting in a change in our arrival and dismissal procedures. This decision was made by district office, district maintenance department, and school staff. Our goal is to keep as much traffic off Snell Rd. Travelers have become impatient when traffic is backed up, which has become a safety hazard for our students, faculty, and families.
Morning buses will be unloaded in front of the school, and morning car riders will be dropped off at the cafeteria doors.
In order to improve afternoon dismissal, we will load buses on the side of the building from the cafeteria doors. Car riders will be loaded in front of the school.
Afternoon pick up procedures:
· Cars will enter the football field parking lot closest to the blue house.
· Two lines will form on the new drive coming toward the school.
· The first cars will stop at the stop sign and wait until 2:30 before pulling through to the front of the school and stopping in front of the building.
· NO car will be allowed in the circle drive for student check out after 2:15. You will need to park and walk to the front.
· Names will be called beginning at 3:00.
· Cars nearest the school must turn left and cars nearest the road must turn right when dismissed.
· Cars/trucks/trailers not fitting in the line must wait in the parking lot and not on the road.
· Cars should not be blocking the road at any time.
In order for this to run smoothly and safely, All families are expected to adhere to the following guidelines when dropping off and picking up students:
1. Remain in your vehicle. A staff member will help unload and load students.
2. All afternoon car riders MUST have a mirror hanger with student(s) names written on it. If you do not have a hanger, you will need to park and report to the office for student pick up.
3. Students are to listen for his/her name and exit the building the first time name is called. If students are not prompt, cars will reroute to the end of the line. This keeps our line flowing as well as maintaining safety for those in line.
4. No trailers will be allowed in afternoon car rider dismissal lanes. IF you have a trailer, please park in the main parking lot.
5. Never block the driveway to dumpsters.
