Bedford County Schools is proud to recognize Mr. Barton Williams, member of the Bedford County Board of Education, for earning both the Level III and Level IV Boardsmanship Awards from the Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA).

Mr. Williams was recently recognized for these achievements during the TSBA South Central Fall District Meeting, where school board members and superintendents from across the region gathered for professional development, discussion and recognition.

The TSBA Boardsmanship Awards recognize individual school board members who demonstrate a commitment to continued learning and service through participation in board activities, professional training and workshops and involvement beyond the local level. The program recognizes not only the quantity of a board member’s participation but also the quality of that involvement.

Boardsmanship Awards are presented at five levels, with Levels I through IV presented during TSBA Fall District Meetings and Level V presented during the association’s annual convention.

Earning both Level III and Level IV represents a significant commitment to continued professional development and engagement in the work of school board service. Through these opportunities, board members strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the issues impacting public education and the students and families they serve.
